Donor Support

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Indian River Symphonic Association, thank you for your generous support. Without you we would not be able to present seven outstanding concerts featuring the finest international and U. S. orchestras. As you can imagine, orchestral costs, including travel expenses, have risen. Donations also fund our music scholarships awarded to high school seniors who are majoring in music in college. Without our donors there would be no special concerts for all 5th grade students in Indian River County. In addition, the Indian River Symphonic Association pays for the buses to bring the 5th graders and their teachers to the Children’s concerts. Thus, your consideration is especially important for the year ahead.

The Indian River Symphonic Association appreciates your enthusiastic response to our programs and the orchestras. Many of the conductors have commented on the joy their orchestra members experience performing for you in the intimate Community Church space. Your remarks to me and other members of the board are welcomed both in person and through our email address info@IRSymphonic.org. Your kind words of encouragement and constructive criticism are important in our efforts to improve. Continue to check our website for updated concert and ticketing information.

Sincerely yours,

John Crosby, President

Donation Policy

All donations, unless otherwise specified (such as for the Children’s Program) are directed to the Restricted Fund, which is used to pay for programs in the current or future years. Donors are listed in the program for the current season, which runs from April 1 to March 31 of the following year. The cutoff date for listing in a specific program is three weeks prior to the concert. Donations after that date are recognized in the next program. Listing donors in the concert program recognizes the support donors give to the Indian River Symphonic Association for multiple purposes such as:

  • To improve the orchestra selections in an economic environment where the best orchestras are struggling and raising costs to us
  • To support the annual concerts performed for all fifth grade students in Indian River County
  • To fund the Symphonic Association music scholarship program for local students who are college-bound music majors
